In the run-up to this, the management has already developed a strategy paper "Mit Abstand sicher" to enable guest operations under the current conditions. "I am very pleased that Tropical Islands has presented a hygiene concept at a very early stage and in a responsible manner and agreed it with the Health Department. The concept is a very good basis for the reopening," says Carsten Saß, Head of the Health Department of the Dahme-Spreewald district.
"The health and safety of our guests and colleagues always has top priority," says General Manager Wouter Dekkers, explaining the procedure. "Our concept is to reduce the capacities by half, so that there's enough room for every guest to maintain the distance regulations - and of course the advantage of being able to enjoy Tropical Islands even more". Day tickets are only available online until further notice. Visitors can find out about further adjustments on the company's own website before their journey.
"Our special thanks go to the health authorities in the Dahme-Spreewald district for their constructive cooperation and to the Ministry of Economics in Potsdam for their support," Dekkers continued.
At Tropical Islands, the final preparations are currently being made for the reopening and slowly everything is changing back to operating mode. "Our employees can't wait to return to their tropical everyday lives either," says Dekkers.
